Face of a Red Devil as soldiers were nicknamed by the Germans

Shell 6th Division with letters AEF, a triangle with number eleven at each point.

Upper band, below: a group of Engineers castle, half-finished spoked wheel, cannon, cavalry saber, rifle, doughboy helmet, then an escutcheon.

Escutcheon with three-pronged heraldic emblem. Below sapling with thirteen leaves. Banner VINCIT LIBERTAS, 7 and 6, garland.

At the back medallion engraved MADE BY PRISONER OF WAR HERM. MEYER FEB.13.1919 IS-SUR-TILLE

Letter N and Y [New York] combined in a circle with the seven stars of Orion [A pun to Maj. Gen. O'Ryan], spoked circles pattern, H.13".

The Caduceus adorns the insignia. Dots style engraving on a fluted shell. H.8.5".

Old Hickory initials and XXX [30 in Roman numerals] displayed horizontally during WWI.
